Medicare Part A covers cataract surgery with hospital/office surgical suite costs at 80%; Part B, if you subscribe, covers the opthalmologist/surgeon's fees at 80%: in the absence of another health insurance carrier the 20% remaining is yours to pay: If you have another insurance it will pay the left over 20%. In the absence of Medicare Part B you will get bill for surgeon's fee in addition to the 20% already mentioned. Your opthalmologist's office will verify coverage for you.
