Hi, Zoloft will not help the anxiety like the Xanax will. A different anti-depressant that works wonders for anxiety is Effexor. This is a excellent medication. It is not addictive and it really does help. Another non-addictive medication for anxiety is Buspar. These two medications can get you feeling better very fast, without risking addiction. Xanax is a great ant-anxiety medication but it is very highly addictive, and the addiction can happen very fast. The withdrawal from a Xanax addiction is extremely unpleasant so you do not want to go there. Ask your Physician about the Effexor and the Buspar and possibly even some Seroquel. All great meds for depression. OCD and anxiety. Best wishes to you.
