Hello Tradel728,,The appendix is located at the lower right quandrant of the abdomen where it is connected to the cecum, which is part of the large intestine known as the Ileocecul junction..It is a worm shaped appendage....It's function if not known...If it becomes inflammed, this is known as appendicitis...One symptom that we determine this by is "rebound pain" in the right lower quandrant...If untreated, it can rupture and cause serious infections..I hope this was abit helpful..Good Luck to you and God Bless. Please, post again if you have further questions or concerns.

Your appendix is in the right lower quadrant of your abdomen. It is found at the point where your small intestine and large intestine join (near the junction of the small intestine and the large intestine). You may also say that the appendix is located in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen, or more specifically, the right iliac fossa. Its position within the abdomen corresponds to a point on the surface known as McBurney's point . While the base of the appendix is at a fairly constant location, 2 cm below the ileocaecal valve, the location of the tip of the appendix can vary.
