How high should a fever be before taking my child to the ER

We generally say a fever of 102, however, one must consider the other symptoms that she is presenting...This needs to be evaluated by a physician...Even though not considered emergent, certainly is urgent...I can only advise you to have her checked out..You may try to call your Primary care physician and inform him of what is occuring and he will then be able to give you proper advise on what steps you need to take..In the mean time, continue giving her Tylenol as directed and increase her fluid intake.....Please, keep us posted on this..I hope this was abit helpful. Flu like symptoms and has a fever of 101.6 ? I tell any one to take the child or themselves to a doctor when the temp rises to 101 because by the time they get to the doctor it has risen to the level that they can understand that you or the child needs help and its safer also because of the problems that this persents to children with a high fever and they can get the help to bring this down to a safer level and maybe help them in the sick stomach that they feel at the time of the temp out burst and also keep the temp at a level so that they can rest somewhat . many times this can be a life saver and we want to help every child or adult with the best care that can be given and make them as safe as possible!
