What does blackening of the large toenails mean?

About six months ago I notice the inside of my two large toenails were blackened. A few days ago I noticed more blackening on the outside of each toenail especially the left toenail and the two toenails next to the large toe are starting to blacken on the inside, as well. I have a stress fracture in the left foot and I am 60 lbs. overweight. (The stress fracture is from the weight gain).

OK now dont let this over stress you . but it means that the toenail is dead in that area, and there is maybe a fungus that has caused this or blood flow problems , and ill ask you a question also. do you have blood sugar problems? this may be the cause also. but this needs to be seen to right now, before it really gets out of hand and this is starting to spread and will rot off the whole toenail, and maybe the toes if something is not done, and this really causes problems for the person, you need a good podiatrice and soon , and please do this before it really affects you feet!
