This reading is not extremely high..And, if this was not a fasting blood sugar, this may actually be normal...However, without benefit of knowing your medical history or any meds that you may be taking, I can only advice you as follows: Dietary intake plays a Major role in controlling ones Blood Sugar...Become a label detective...Read the labels of the foods that you choose, and look for the amount of Carbohydrates and Sugars that are in them.. Avoid excessive Carb and Sugar intake..Processed foods(Canned) are usually high in sugars...Watch for ingredients such as sucrose, fructose, glycol, corn syrup, etc...You will be amazed at just how much sugar we eat...Try to eat good nutritional foods..Fresh Veggies or Frozen ...Even foods that advertise that they are Heart Healthy, read the labels....Stay away from foods that say Enriched..This simply means they have taken the good stuff out and put in bad...Make sure that you eat 3 meals a day and drink plenty of fluids....If you are unable to consume 3 meals a day, then try eating 6 smaller meals . Never avoid breakfast..This is truly the healthiest meal of your day...You may consider having your Physician due testing for Diabetes if this is what you suspect may be wrong...Is there any history of Diabetes in your family? Eat a good diet, but get yourself evaluated by your physician to make sure of what you are dealing with...In any event, this diet is the best regardless whether you have diabetes or not..It is also a very successful way to lose weight and keep it off if that is a concern of yours..I hope this has helped a little..
