This reading is not extremely high..And, if this was not a fasting blood sugar, this may actually be normal...However, without benefit of knowing your medical history or any meds that you may be taking, I can only advice you as follows: Dietary intake plays a Major role in controlling ones Blood Sugar...Become a label detective...Read the labels of the foods that you choose, and look for the amount of Carbohydrates and Sugars that are in them.. Avoid excessive Carb and Sugar intake..Processed foods(Canned) are usually high in sugars...Watch for ingredients such as sucrose, fructose, glycol, corn syrup, etc...You will be amazed at just how much sugar we eat...Try to eat good nutritional foods..Fresh Veggies or Frozen ...Even foods that advertise that they are Heart Healthy, read the labels....Stay away from foods that say Enriched..This simply means they have taken the good stuff out and put in bad...Make sure that you eat 3 meals a day and drink plenty of fluids....If you are unable to consume 3 meals a day, then try eating 6 smaller meals . Never avoid breakfast..This is truly the healthiest meal of your day...You may consider having your Physician due testing for Diabetes if this is what you suspect may be wrong...Is there any history of Diabetes in your family? Eat a good diet, but get yourself evaluated by your physician to make sure of what you are dealing with...In any event, this diet is the best regardless whether you have diabetes or not..It is also a very successful way to lose weight and keep it off if that is a concern of yours..I hope this has helped a little.. Good Luck to you and God Bless..Please keep us posted if you have any further concerns.....

Your glucose level is slightly above the normal range for a fasting blood glucose level, but is within the normal random blood glucose levels.

However in order to lower your blood glucose level without the use of oral diabetic drugs you can do several things. Firstly cut out sugary drinks such as waters with additives and coca cola, fanta etc. You should drink water and milk instead. Similarly try to limit your intake of alcoholic beverages.

Secondly watch your diet and avoid foods high in sugar as well as sugary snacks including sweets, buns and cakes. You should increase your intake of fresh vegetables and fish. This will help you lose weight.

Thirdly exercise. Aerobic exercise is not only good for improving heart function, it also helps to lower blood glucose levels naturally.

Finally make sure you take some time to relax and unwind, as well as having at least 8 hours sleep a night. Believe it or not years of lack of sleep leads to increased blood glucose levels.
