Has anyone tried the diet pill "Hoodia Gordonii?"

Does it work other than to loose weight in my wallet?

Diet pills dont work. They are a waste of money and an even bigger waste of your time. Most people who use them gain the weight right back.

The healthiest way to lose weight is to eat healthy, and exercise. Weight watchers works great. And plus, you have the added support group.

My mom is a nutritionist and taught aerobics for many years. The only pills that REALLY do anything are thermo pills like diet fuel that you take before you work out and they are certainly not miracle drugs - they just raise your internal temperature faster as you work out so you can burn a little more fat, but if you aren't exercising it won't help you much.

Have you heard of Alli? I have not tried it myself (I am very skeptical) but my little sister has been on it and lost 20 pounds in the last 6 weeks, but she has also changed her eating habits.

If you want to lose weight quickly, try a supplement like diet fuel or alli and take one of those 6 week boot camp classes. They are horrible, but you will look and feel better in 6 weeks that you would in 2 years of doing it on your own.

Jodi - is diet fuel the brand name? I've never heard of it. Where do you get it? (I'm also looking for a "miracle" pill to go along w/ my good eating and exercise.)

I have heard of alli, its at walmart, & actually, I use to take a thermo something once in a while, I got it at GNC it really did work, I was not hungry & I did work out.
I just went from an 8 hr physical job to an easier 8 hr job, & in 2 yrs have gained 20 pounds!!

There isn't really a quick fix diet pill.

cut your calories, exercise at least 30 min a day (if not more) and eat right. cut things out like pop and excess sugar.

Yeah - it's called diet fuel by twinlabs:

http://www.allstarhealth.com/f/twinlab-diet_fuel.htm

It's definatly not a miracle pill, what it does is your body has a temperature threshold that you hit to start burning fat. This just has chemicals to reach that threshold sooner so you can get the most out of your workout, but it won't do anything if you aren't working out. It also gives you a tiny boost of energy, but not like efedra - unsafe as it was, that was more of a miracle pill.

A couple other easy weight loss tricks:

Always drink a glass of water before you eat

Never eat 2 hours before you go to bed

Learn about portion control - our portions in America at each meal are 2-3x what we should be eating.

I do all that stuff. I've even cut way back on my drinking (not including last friday night ;-) Some of you may have noticed less nightime drunken posts by me. lol. I've lost like 10 lbs by doing all the "right" stuff, but I'm stuck. It's not going up or down.
Jodi - that website says the diet fuel is discontinued. Figures. If something works they take it away. lol. I miss ephedra...

I went to GNC yesterday looking for "diet fuel". The only thing they had - and they guy said works great was Hydroxicut Hardcore (they had another one, but is was way too much $$$ for me). He said it's new and works like diet fuel. I'll let you know what happens.
