How long can a person survive with a draing fistula in the abdominal

My husband develope a fistulal after abdominal surgery 13 months ago. while the doctors was hoping it would heal on its on a second fistula came through 6 months ago, along side each other and by the way these two fistula drain food and now one week ago a third fistula came through and this one is drain stool. I know that his quality of life has change and no one can tell me any different. His doctors said they can not operate because he is a very high risk patient so I want to know for myself how long can a person really survive with three draining fistula by the way he also has a colosmy bag, and a trac in his neck.
