If the patient 's room is being paid by medicare how much money can they have in their personal bank account?

I don't think they can have any in there bank account if medicaid is paying for the room , you have to self pay till you are down to about nothing really , that's a diff story, and they also have a 5 year look back , and what that means is that if she gives her money away within 5 years of going in the rest home then they , medicare wont pay, till all the money is given back to them, we had this with mom and then it was a 3 year look back , so we changed all the money and land out to our names 3 years before she was put in,.
