I ate some chicken wings a week ago and my stomach is still cramping from it and want take in nothing but bread, fruit, and water without throwing it up. What should I do?

It started NOV 21st when I ate some chicken wings I started throwing up. I wasn't able to eat anything until around NOV 26th. I ate a can of chicken noodle soup for lunch and one for dinner. I went to the doctor on NOV 27th but was feeling much better. The doctor told me that I was just going threw a stomach virus and he figured that it's gone. Later on that night I ate again and it started again. I started eating bread and fruit since that's the only food that will stay down. I lost alot of weight that I can't afford to loose. 140-128lbs in 4 days. Right now my stomach is cramping up worst than ever. From my description would you know what might be wrong with me?

The acute symptoms of Salmonella gastroenteritis include the sudden onset of nausea, abdominal cramping, and bloody diarrhea with mucous. The onset of symptoms usually occurs within 6 to 72 hours after the ingestion of the bacteria.1 The infectious dose is small, probably from 15 to 20 cells. There is no real cure for a Salmonella infection (or salmonellosis), except treatment of the symptoms. For most strains of Salmonella, the fatality rate is less than one percent.

Salmonella infections usually resolve in five to seven days, and many times require no treatment, unless the patient becomes severely dehydrated or the infection spreads from the intestines. Persons with severe diarrhea may require rehydration, often with intravenous fluids. Treatment with antibiotics is not usually necessary, unless the infection spreads from the intestines, or otherwise persists, in which case the infection can be treated with ampicillin, gentamicin, trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, or ciprofloxacin. Some Salmonella bacteria have become resistant to antibiotics, however, and this has occurred possibly as a result of the use of antibiotics to promote the growth of feed animals.

It sounds like it could be a virus too. When I've gotten food poisoning before the worst part about it was that I was just sick straight with no relief for a few days. It's awful.

Did you ever figure out what was wrong? Hope you are felling better!

Salmonella is a real possibility. I would go back to the doctor. Did he take your blood?, prescribe antibiotics, or just take your money, and send you home. He should have taken your blood.
