It most certainly could be caused by your diabetes, especially if you are not under good diabetic control. You are experiencing a sort of inflammation and diabetic neuropathy begins in the lower extremities most often, especially the feet. This is actually causing destruction of the nerves in your feet and should be dealt with immediately. You HAVE to get your diabetes under control. Your doctor may recommend some anti-inflammatory medications to help prevent the swelling and at an attempt to quell the pain. Please keep in touch and keep us updated!
