Anal or colon itching can be due to pinworms especially if it is intense at night. These are very common and infect children often who then can pass them onto the rest of the family. Oral antiparasitic medications, Metacleanse colon cleanse, or any general colon cleanse can help & wash bedding. In general too, avoid excessive caffeine, wear only loose cotton underwear, wipe with only damp tissue, then wash with mild soap, and use cornstarch powder. Hemorrhoids may cause itching as well as pain & maybe slight bleeding - many OTC remedies are available; if you feel a lump around anus see the doctor. Diabetes can cause a fungal infection resulting in anal/colon itching. For this take acidophyllus, bifida, lactobacillus or eat plain yogurt. If you continue to have itching maybe something more serious is happening so see the doctor about it.
