NO Sepsis is not contagious. It is life-threatening, though. The person who has it is usually in the hospital ICU and they are on respirators and antibiotics. You don't just have sepsis like a cold or the flu. Sepsis (also called "Systemic Inflammatory Response syndrome") are blood clots brought on by a severe bacterial infection. It's how a person's body responds to that particular infection. Just because you get a bacterial infection doesn't mean you will get sepsis.hope this helps!
