Lower back pain

I have lower left back pain. I was wondering if maybe it ws my kidneys or bladder. But it does not hurt when i go to the restroom. Sometimes there is a sharp pain only on the left side. Is there something that i can do?

Is it a constant dull ache? With the intermitent sharp pain I would suspect a kidney infection. You will not necessarily have pain when using the bathroom, as your bladder is likely not yet involved. This kind of pain can also be caused by kidney stone, wich if large and left untreated can be dagerous. Please see your doctor, as you may need antibiotics, and possibly a kidney ultrasound.

Drinking an excess of water will make your kidneys work hard, and while this is a good idea to help them flush, it is more likely to increase your pain. Please see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
