Lump underneath scrotum, on leg

I recently found a lump underneath and to the side of my scrotum, where the leg meets the hip area. The lump is on the groin/leg and not on the scrotum though. I recently have started working out and have found discomfort using a certain machine where you open and close your legs with resistance. This lump has grown in the area of discomfort. Is this likely a hernia? Or should I take some sort of action immediately? Thanks.
