Two monthas ago my brother in law came home to his wife complaining of chest pains. He said he had them before but they went away. He claimed pains were sharp and excruciating, right under his heart too. They started to ask questions to the wrong people instead of getting first and second opinions from the doctors right away.
He finally went to emergency and was in the ICU (Intensive care unit) for 24 hours. They found clogged up arteries (4 of them), and his heart was strong as a rock. 5 weeks later he was back at work and 8 weeks he was vacationing in the Caribbean.
Do yourself a favor and do for your husband what you need to do, do not delay the process a minute longer, results can be devastating. I will pray for you and your husband.
Hello cherylr....Without benefit of knowing your husbands medical history, I can only give you some assumptive idea's as to what may be causing his discomfort....First and foremost, he should have been evaluated for any Cardiovascular problems..Secondly: There is a condition known as Constochondritis(inflammation of the cartilages between the ribs..If this is the case, his discomfort will be more severe with inhalation....He would need to be placed on antiinflammatories in order to calm this down.....And lastly, he could have a condition known as Pleurisy(Inflammation of the pleural space of the lung..However, if he has had a chest x-ray, this would likely have been detected..And again, this would cause increased pain with breathing or certain excersise...If you are frustrated with your physician, you should obtain a second opinion...If cardic risk factors and testing have ruled out the heart, then I would say that this is an inflammatory process of some type...As mentioned above, I do feel that he would benefit from an antiinflammatory agent...This can be Ibuprofen bought over the counter, such as Advil or he may need a short term dose of steroids...I hope this was abit helpful...Good Luck to you and your husband and God Bless.

This may be the best answer because he is strong and we never thought about having clogged arteries, thanks!
