Sharp pain in lower right abdomen ? Have you had your appendix checked or have you had this taken out ? first off then i would assume that you that you have not had any other symptoms except the pain. so this may be from a host of conditions and i would not try to tell you any thing to worry you with till testing and other things have been done but you made a very good call on this and it may well be a Hernia and i would get this checked out very soon to see what this is for your health.

It could be a number of things... I would call and schedule an appointment, or if is is getting worse, go to the ER ASAP.

95% sure that it is a hernia. However, there are a couple things to consider for a hernia. Is there a bulge? If not, then you can have a sports hernia. Hernia are often present and noticed when you cough. That is how doctors' check hernia issues.
