Whilst this method is used, it offten fails. Due to people not being able to do correctly, and the inevitable pain caused. I would suggest if your feeling suicidal in anyway, talk to someone in confidence, even if it's online.

YES! Slitting your wrists can KILL you. Talk to someone-ANYONE!
Short of killing you, you can lose a significant amount of blood requiring transfusions (which can have bad side-effects itself), you can cut nerves/arteries which may not be able to be repaired, causing permanent disability. Also, do you want to explain that scar to your children or potential mate?
