What is the prevalence of schizophrenia?

Hello NewHaven513...Schizophrenia affects 2million people in just the US..About 1% of the population is affected by this or some other disease of the brain..The good news is that there are treatments now available to help these individuals...We have so many such illnesses with different titles that it gets somewhat confusing ..Bi-polar disorder is a much abused diagnosis....This disorder , if diagnosed properly, does not fit everyone...However, in our own medical society, this is an illness that gets tagged on just about all psychological disorders....I hope this was helpful..Good Luck to you and God Bless.
