My doctor percribed xanax is it the right thing for me

It doesn't seem to stop the tingle in my face tounge or hands hands it calms it down a little bit. If i don't take it my hands turn red my legs start shaking and my breathing becomes irregular. I don't think it mellows my mood out then again my irriatablity right now could be that my body still tingles every and feels like it's on fire. I have already had four .25mg xanax today. Even though my tounge is tingle right now i don't wish to take any more xanax. I am also taking topomax for my migranes.
