Most likely that your lymph nodes are doing their job trying to fight off the infection. You may even feel like you have the flu, with all its aches and pains, Shingles are caused by the virus Herpes Zoster, the same thing that causes chicken pox, so if you had chicken pox as a child then even though it lays dormant for years, in some people it manifests itself later as shingles. Treatment with antivirals such as acyclovir (Zovirax), valacyclovir (Valtrex), and famciclovir (Famvir) can greatly reduce the symtoms. Call your doctor and see if you are a candidate for any of these medications. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. Susu
