Potassium Chloride and Potassium Citrate

I am taking Potassium Chloride 10 MEQ and the company is going to discontinue it. I have Part D Medicare and on my formulary, they only offer Potassiun Citrate controlled released tablets of 540mg or 1080 mg. Could I take this since it is a Citrate?
