Potassiun Citrate or Potassium Chloride

I was taking Potassium 10 MEQ but the company is no longer making this med. I am on Part D of the Prescription formulary and they offer Potassium Citrate Controlled Released Tablet 540mg or 1080 mg. Now, can I take this Citrate instead of the chloride?

OK now that will be up to the doctor in this case and there would be no problem if the meds will do the same work for you, and the Citrate can also be transported out of the mitochondria and into the cytoplasm, then broken down into acetyl CoA for fatty acid synthesis. Potassium Chloride works with The salts of hydrochloric acid HCl , so this is close to what you may want, if the doctor will let you take this and it will help you, there are a diff in this but slight , !
