Psychologist- am i having repressed memories?

I am a 38 year old mother, full time worker, wife. I am on antidepressants and Klonopin for major depression and Panic Disorder and PTSD. These meds have been effective, but this past week I have experienced chronic/ constant anxiety and some out-of-body feelings along with intense anger and suicidal wishes. The problem is I dont know where this came from or why it is happening. My mother was Borderline Personality Disorder and Bipolar (undiagnosed and untreated) so my childhood was abusive and unstable. she was obsessed with perceived threats of violence and sexual abuse on her and us. she would tell us stories about the dangers of being victims, an then threaten to put us into those situations if we were "bad". I have felt this week as if I dont want to know that I was molested, but I wonder if the fact that she made us so frightened about it is making me feel or question if I was. I know that she went through a phase where she gave us routine enemas to keep us healthy. She would taunt us with being able to play with special toys that she kept away from us only to be used if we agreed to let her do it. I never though that i had them, only remembering my bothers being "tortured" but recently remembered a flashback of myself and how i felt. I have almost no memories about my childhood, and the little I have feel like they dont belong to me. Am I repressing? Am I just stressed? i am wondering why I feel so crazy and anxious while on my meds.

Klonopin should only be taken short term. If you're on it for long periods of times you can get addicted to it, and your anxiety will increase severely. My psychiatrist will only prescribe it to me for a maximum of two weeks. It is effective, but like most psychiatric drugs it can be dangerous.

You can't go cold turkey on it either, because you can experience very harmful withdrawals. It's surprising (and disturbing) that some doctors do not know about this problem. My friend had a doctor who gave her klonopin three times a day for over three months, and she turned into a wreck.
Medications fix chemical imbalances, they can't fix deeply rotted emotional problems (which usually go hand in hand). I see a psychiatrist for my antidepressants and mood stabilizers and a psychologist for therapy. It has been very effective for me. Group therapy also worked wonders for me. (: And it was fun.

If you are feeling even the slightest bit suicidal, you need to speak with your doctor immediately. It could be a side effect of your medications. Everyone has a different combination of drugs that work for them. I've had to switch medications for years before I found one that worked for me.

Thank you for your advice. I see my psychiatrist soon and i will ask about the klonipin...I have been prescribed taking it 3 times a day for 5 months so far with no talk about stopping or reducing.
According to what you are saying this is not a good idea.

I very much appreciate your time and help!
