Question concerning my medicine.

I was prescribed Oxycontin for pain. Why does my medicine bottle say Morphine Sulfate? What does Sulfate do for me?

Is "Oxycontin" and "Morphine Sulfate" the same drug? If not, how do they differ?

Morphine Sulfate is the generic for MS Contin. It is used for moderate, acute or severe pain.
