Does it hurt all the time or just when you eat? I had an ulcer a couple of months ago and every time I ate I would get a horrible pain in between/underneath my ribs. If it is just hurting whenever you eat try not eating- chocolate, cookies, anything spicy, drinking any caffeinated beverages, no fried foods, potato chips, broccoli, cauliflower and don't eat as much as you usually would. If it doesn't help or get better in 3 days to a week go to the doctor.

You should probably see a doctor. If it is your gall bladder and you let it continue the surgery will require an incision about 8 inches long just to the right of your rib cage. If you get it out before it becomes to serious they can perform laparoscopic surgery which is several small incisions and much shorter recovery time.
