Thyroid problems?

I have a lump in my throat that is painful. ive had weight loss that wasnt controlled(25 lbs to be exact) i also have had the iud. but im afraid its my thyroid... can i still concieve with these problems is it life threatening? can my iud be causing these problems with my thyroid?
