Tingling hands

I am a 52 year old woman. I have been waking up lately to find both of my hands are asleep (tingling).

Any other symptoms?

Weakness in one or both hands
Numbness or tingling in the thumb and next two or three fingers of one or both hands
Numbness or tingling of the palm of the hand
Pain in wrist or hand in one or both hands
Pain extending to the elbow
Problems with fine finger movements (coordination) in one or both hands
Weak grip or difficulty carrying bags

I had this problem when I was pregnant because I worked on a computer all day and because of the weight gain and swelling. It was annoying, but harmless. If its from being on the computer you can try exercises for carpal tunnel:

If you have gained weight recently, getting on a weight management plan can help.

For swelling, avoid foods with a lot of salt during the second half of your day.
