What could cause pain the left lung?

Pain the left lung? Can be caused by a few reasons and the first i think of is intercostal conditis and this is inflamed muscles surrounding the ribs and then there is nodes that can cause the pain within the lung on one side only and if you have had coughing like symptom for the last while then this would be what this is and then it could be a flu like symptom that can cause this and if unsure then go to the doctor and let him take a scan of the lungs and get help.
