MRSA is methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus a bacteria of the staph family (on all surfaces of daily living and can even inhabit healthy bodies without producing disease) which becomes virulent (can infect wounds) and hard to destroy. Drugs successful in eliminating it include vancomycin. The incidence of MRSA has grown (and now there is a cousin, ORSA) due to wide-spread irresponsible (in many cases) use of antibiotics in the 70's & 80's, in foods, water, all ailments even before indentification, and genetic mutation. MRSA has been more of an indicator of general debilitation than a cause of it, and though the immune system is compromised due to illness with aggressive treatment it can be beat.

Bonlaur stands correct as usual but MRSA (community related) is not as bad to have. Mrsa (hospital form) can be a little worse to have and harder to beat. Other medicines like bactrim help. One more thing you can try is there is a Munuka Honey in New Zealand that I bought for my own MRSA conditions though I have not had to use it because my last infection has already cleared I was told by someone that almost died from mrsa and she says an infectious disease speacialist from another country recommended it to her and it worked miracles. It does have the highest antibacterial activity.
