Hello MenoMosso676.. Let me start by saying that it is individuals like yourself, who have been impressed enough by the science of medicine that they wish to further their studies and become a part of the Medical Society...You have obviously chosen a field that you will be caring for children...I applaud you for this...The most rewarding part of being a physician is to help individuals who are unable to help themselves...Also having the ability to research far beyond what one aquires in Medical School...You will find that the science of medicine is so interesting and is always ongoing..It is like you never stop learning..A kind word spoken by a patient is probably one of the greatest rewards..I have been in this profession for 30yrs and am now semi-retired..I have had the pleasure of working along side of some of the finest physicians ,and had the unique blessing of being able to share my knowledge with new and upcoming physicians..My wish for them was always that they take the knowledge that they are given and strive to be the very best that they can be..Never think they have learned all that they need...You never stop learning..You will spend many late nights without sleep, you will at times miss your family..So, you must make some sacrifices in order to reach your goals...Once you have established yourself, you will find that your patients/parents will treat you with respect and at times, look at you as though you are their's.....They depend on you so much..And, if you can make them feel better, or find a cause for their illness, they actually think you have pulled a miracle out of your pocket..It is the little things that a rewarding...Always remember that as physicians, you are an instrument of God. He will quide your every movement in your decision making along with the knowledge you will aquire in Medical School..You will be very humble once you take care of your first patient..Some individuals attend Medical School because they want to have a certain Esteem in their community, others simply want to make a difference...You will make a difference in the lives you take care of....I wish you all the luck in the world...God Bless You..Please, keep us posted...You have a long way's to go!
