Sir i am 24 age .when i test my blood sugar fasting the sugar level is115 and when i testing after 2 hours the level should decrease in 78 .sir please tell me is it diabetes
Blood sugar fasting ? NO joyprakash this is a very good level for you at 24 years of age and you need to have this tested once in a while but this is very good and any thing over 140 would be what to watch for . so you are in very good condtion now and 115 is normal so watch this for the next few years and if in doubt go to the doctor!
The normal range for sugar count (blood glucose level) varies depending on whether you are fasting or whether you have eaten recently. The normal sugar count if you are fasting is 70-99 mg/dl, whereas a sugar count of 70-145 mg/dl is normal for a random sugar level, ie if you have ate in previous 2-3 hours.
It would help to know what range your friend used, ie the fasting or the random sugar count level. If they used the fasting range then your sugar count at 22 points above 99 is well within the normal random range which goes up to 145 mg/dl. If the used the random sugar count range then perhaps it would be a good idea to retest your blood glucose level.
