Hoarding food ? Is what this is called and she is afraid that she will run out of food for some reason and not be able to get any more and she will have this under the beds in the closet any where she can hide it. and this is not normal for a child that not been adopted to do this . now adopted children will hide food to make sure they get what they want. because they are afraid that they wont have food and are scared of being without. adopted children or those that have a hard time in life hide foods because they only get meals when someone else lets them have them. so they hide for their hunger. but this child needs to go to a mental clinic and be checked for problems and i know you dont want to hear this but this is the way to get this under control .

They should go to their pediatrician and get a referral to a child clinical psychologist or other mental health provider.
