How can I break my water to induce my labor?

Since you are already having contractions the most common means used by overdue women to help speed the process along, having sex, is contraindicated. So just call you obstetrician. You probably need to meet him/her at the hospital now., but since this message is 3 hours late you probably have already.

This is coming in abit late. As your question was three hrs ago..However, there is NO safe way to break your water at this point...You are in labor and if you have not yet called your OB-GYN and been instructed on what to do at this point, which is probably to go to the hospital, then I would advise you to do so.....Congradulations ! Well, I see I'm chiming in a bit late... You've probably already given birth now. But I figured I'd post my reply for those who may be in a similar situation as you.

At a week and a half over my due date, I got the OK from my midwife to try acupressure. I bought a $27 book (http://www.naturallyinducelabor.com/guide) and activated the points over a weekend.

48 hours later I was holding my daughter in my arms.

Maternal acupressure is not for everyone and you definitely need to check with your practitioner first, but it's safe for Mom and baby, and much less invasive than being medically induced.

I am 2 days late this is my fifth baby and I am ready I have tried everything to go into labor spicy foods, pineapple, walking alot, swimming, jumping into the pool, alot of sex I go to the doctor in two more days but I am so uncomfortable I cant breath well at all and get very light headed when Im up moving around its hard with four other kids does anyone have any ideas to anything else I am scared to try castor oil my doctor says its not good. Ive tried stimulating my nipples but it does nothing. Please help

The safest and best way is to let Mother Nature do her thing...With a fifth child, once labor actually starts, I think you would probably advance very quickly...Post-mature births are very infrequent after this many pregnancies...I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it is the best...If you go much longer, your physician may opt to induce...I doubt that you will have this problem..I would advise you to get some assistance with the 4 other children , and try to relax...Relaxation can actually help with the process of labor.....Please keep us posted..Good Luck and God Bless You and your children..
