If the pain is just like previous back pain you have had, then you know what it is. If this is something different, and you cannot figure out what it causing it, you might have to get it checked out. If it is up high on the right side in the flank area, you might have a kidney infection or a stone; the stone pain tends to radiate around to the front toward the groin. If the pain is also in the right upper quadrant of your abdomen (front and back) you might be having gall bladder problems. Appendicitis usually but not always causes pain in the right lower quadrant of the abdomen but the appendix is fickle and it possibly might cause some pain toward the back (not typical) or groin. You just might have to visit the ER if this pain continues.
