What can I do to improve bladder voiding following bladder sling surgery?

I am 42 and had bladder sling surgery 12/28 as well as the doctor narrowed the opening to my urethra. It will soon be 3 weeks and I am having trouble voiding. I just started self catherization and at times I can void a nickle size drop to 2 oz. This is usually when my bladder only has around 240 ml or less when I then cath. When I have more than this, I can not go. I feel lots of pressure but can not go on my own. My doctor prescribed bethanechol 25 mg to help, but nothing is working. I am also trying estrace cream since I had a partical hysterectomy 10 yrs ago. I am getting really discouraged and depressed. I do not like to self cath. What can I do or try to get my bladder to void on its own? Do you think the sling is too tight or the narrowing of my urethra is too tight? Why do I feel the severe pressure when I have a strong urge to go, but can't. I really need some help or advice. I was not told this could happen and so I am scared. I do not know if I should have the doctor clip the sling or give it time. I am so confused. Please help....

Sometimes those things happen have you told the dr that this is happening?they have instances where this kind of thing happens for a long period of time, just have to wait it out the feeling that you get of having to go is normal cause now it doesn't take as long to fill the bladderor as much to fill the bladder if you might be having bladder spasms to oxybutin would help with that i would wait it out but if you are that concerned i would call the dr and share this information with him
