Creative valentine box

At schools here, they judge our creative valentine boxes , kids win a dollar coin!
But it is big deal, (ok, to the parents it is). We have to win!!!
Any creative minds out there?
I, I mean, my granddaughter, does not want to lose!

Maybe you could have a teddy bear holding the box ? Not very creative I know. Maybe the bear has a balloon in one hand.

Use a empty kleenex box or a show box with a slit cut in the top.

You can use a plethera of things to cover the box.

The thing me and my mom would do was to go to the store and pick out some fabric that I liked to cover the box, some felt, and then one specialty item, like stickers, decals, patches, or other embelishments. (Crafts store, or places like walmart have a craft section)

She would help cut and put the fabric on the box. I can't remember what she used but it was either a fabric glue a glue gun or a stapler/staple gun. I would cut hearts and shapes and my name out of the felt to glue onto the box. Other things like red, white or pink buttons, ribbon edged around the box was used to decorate it as well.

That is ridiculous, I am not sure I would honor a tradition so hard on the kids, I would probably fight to abolish it, but thats just me. But I did find this page for you that has some cute ideas you can always shift around and bit to make what you want, including this guy...

Last year I made treats for my friends and I took some Chinese take-out boxes and lined the inside with some velvet scraps I got from the fabric store. Then I took some pink shag fabric and glued it on the outside of the box. It kinda looked like a pimp box, but I was trying to steer clear of my normal standby - glitter.
