Divorce and alimony

I remarried three months ago, and I believe it was the biggest mistake I ever made. If I file for divorce (in North Carolina), will I have to pay alimony or any type of payments to her? She works at the same job she's had for ten years, owns and pays her mortgage on her own home (which I moved into), and I still have my home which is up for sale. She has a 17 year old daughter who is mildly handicapped with downs syndrome.

If she makes less money than you she can file for alimony. Now with child support, it is a calculation based on both parents income, where alimony is left to a judges discretion. So if she is self-supportive, owns a home, etc. then IF she was granted alimony (which I doubt) it would be very little.

You have not been married long enough to worry about having to pay her alimony. What she has would be hers and what you have would be yours as long as it is what you had before the marriage. If you have any asses since your marriage you can split them, but it couldn't be to much.
