Married an obligations on health insurance

If you are married and the spouse has removed you from the insurance policy, my understanding is that you cannot by law remove the spouse from the policy by law. Would this be true? And what can the person removed do to have themselves reinstated on the policy?

It's not illegal for him to remove you from the policy. There is no obligation for one spouse to keep health insurance on a spouse. As a matter of fact there are many couples out there where only one has health insurance because the cost is so ridiculous right now that they can't afford for both to be on health insurance, so they only insure the person who is most likely to need it.

Why did he remove you? Was it for expense purpose or was he angry with you?

Thank you for your response, however, I had looked up the statutes on marriages/divorces and under (at least pertaining to Missouri and Florida laws, which are all that is important in my case), he cannot do this. Now we have not filed at this time, and yes I understand that in cases each may be insured under different policies with each employers. I did speak to one attorney (MO) that the policy holder cannot remove me. I also understand from another employee of the same company that when he attempted to remove his spouse that he was divorcing, yet not filed, the employers told him he cannot do so until a divorce was finalized. He was also a relative of the owners. I had spoken to the insurance group as well in the enrollment department and the rep stated that if his reasonings were to remove me/kids based on trying to find cheaper insurance and has not had one set up at the time that that reason was not valid to remove us. Would this change anything with more info as this that I have added?
