This year I am growing mostly chickweed and dandelions, but it is not suppose to be that way, we just had so much rain I cannot get out to weed and the proper plants are not happy.
I really do have potatoes, tomatoes, and zuchini in the vege garden - we have had carrots, swiss chard, peas, beans, and lettuce in the past but we live in the country and deer tend to eat thoses. Corn is hard to grow unless you have a long, hot, season.
I also grow strawberries, raspberries, saskatoon - berries, and apples!
We even have hens for laying eggs!
Good luck with your garden - ask around in your area to see what grows best where you live.
I'm trying a Topsy Turvey tomato planter this year. So far, we have five green tomatoes hanging from the vine. This is lazy gardening, but it's all I have time for with two kids!
We have three different kinds of tomatoes...large red cherries, Bonnie Best and Early Girl...have already had some fried green tomatoes and red tomatoes from those plants.
We have three kinds of corn growing...Indian corn, bi-color and white.
Green and red peppers, green onions, garlic, radishes, cabbage, lettuce, zucchini, cauliflower, pumpkins, watermelons, cucumbers, strawberries, asparagus and our first herb garden with thyme, parsley, sage, dill, bay leaves and rosemary.
We will definitely add more next year...Boston red lettuce, eggplant, squash, more herbs like oregano and basil. Also want to grow all the berries, cherry, apple, pear and peach trees.
We don't have to buy anymore produce at this time and that's great....tastes so much better too out of your own garden! Now I just need to learn to can everything!
I have a big glass window in my house ,so you can grow things indoor, this year we grew tomato and strawberries. But next year I will try to be a bit more creative.
My garden is seasonal so the plants under cultivation this Summer are musk melons, Chinese bitter gourds, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. I also have a small orchard that is getting ready to deliver a crop of apples, peaches, figs, and French prunes.
I had hopes of having more plants under cultivation, but the seed I purchased this year was infertile. Much of what I have growing is from seed I've saved from last year's harvest. It pays to get your seed from reputable seed companies rather than relying on those with brand names. This winter I will plant collard greens and snow peas from seed I've saved to ensure I have a early Spring crop for the table.
Nothing is more therapeutic to me than spending time each day cultivating the earth and nurturing plants. It kept me sane through many hectic years of work and still brings me a satisfaction that I can't find anywhere else.
Wow, you are all growing so much great food!
I think I probably live in an area more like Animal_World's home, so I have to award the answer there. I'm afraid weeds are more plentiful than veggies in my garden this year. We did build a ten foot fence to keep out the deer. A little fawn managed to get through the holes in the wire, but I think the little one was not yet eating much. I scared him when I went to weed one morning!
Thanks everyone for your answers. They were all great!

We grow tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini, yellow summer squash, cucumbers, broccoli, onions, and green beans. A bunny ate my green bean off this year. Next year I'll have to use pepper spray on them.
I have a small garden and have most things grow up my chain link fence which helps save a lot of space. Almost everything is grown for fresh eating. I use to can and freeze all of our winter vegetables, but can't have a large garden where I'm living now.
If you don't have time for anything else try container gardening. You be surprised how many vegetables you can get this way.
