Body lice may be prevented by bathing regularly and changing clothes. Body lice live on clothing, not on the body. Washing clothes in hot water (130 degrees and higher, check the water temp) will kill the lice.
Some people have an allergic reaction to the bite which lasts 7-10 days. Do you continue to have the lice or perhaps suffering from an allergic reaction.
Merck & Co has a drug 'Ivermectin' to treat lice when various topical treatments do not work. Ivermectin is a once daily pill. Speak to your Doctor. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

Will barbicide kill body lice on carpet & furnishings
WE'VE BEEN TREATING BODY LICE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. We treat ourselves as directed by the physcian - once and again in 7 days, but it comes back. i wash everything in hot water. we vacuum daily, clean bathrooms / kitchen with bleach. We keep a sheet on the couch and wash it and change it daily just like the beds. i've had the house exterminated twice and i've exterminated on my own once. i keep dirty clothes in tubs with lids until their washed. i need sometning to get this out of my house or someone to tell me what i'm doing wrong. i have also spent a fortune on this.
