Can a company force you to sign up for Insurance when you already have insurance that is better than what they are offering?

The company I work for is making it mandatory for us to sign up for an insurance that is inferior to what I already have through a previous employer which will then make it my primary insurance and will make my current insurance secondary and will end up costing me a substantial loss of money in the long run. It will also cancel my wife's insurance with my current insurance company and this would be a considerable financial burden to my family as the benefit's paid by the new insurance are far inferior to our present coverage. If I don't agree to signing up I will be fired. Can they do this? I live in the State of Washington & the co I work for is in Portland, Oregon but the location I work for is in Washington.

They are probably trying to make it mandatory because the whole plan is discounted if they get X number of people to sign up. That said, your company cannot make it mandatory, at least that's my understanding. You might try calling the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner at this number 1-800-562-6900 and ask.
