Can an employer force an employee to pay out of their pockets if their cash register is short?

Is it legal in the state of Nevada for an employer to force employees to make up the difference if their cash register drawer is short? Several people use the cash register during the shift and if it is short they are forced to pay out of their own pockets to make up the difference.
