Can I still pursue my EEOC complaint?

I filed an EEOC complaint against my employer for harassment, intimidation and retaliation. During a drug search of company property half of a marijuana cigarette was found in my personal vehicle. I am now suspended pending termination . The EEOC complaint was filed prior to the drug search.

Yes, you can continue to process your EEOC complaint.

You should also see an attorney to determine whether or not the company search for the marijuana was legal. If not, you can sue the company for invasion of privacy and violation of other laws for that too. It is highly unusual for a company to search "inside" vehicles when they do a these types of drug checks. You may have them over the proverbial barrel. I'd like to see the company policy that you signed explaining that they had a right to search for drugs inside your personal vehicle; even if it was parked on their property.
