Does an employer have to give notice prior to changing your schedule?

This employer requires 2 weeks advance notice to request a change in schedule (i.e. day off, switching schedules) yet changes the work schedule without any notification to the employees. Also, the employer has posted a sign stating "We will no longer be giving days off when requested and you are not guaranteed a day off even if you do so in a timely manner." Employees were told they "Don't work hard enough for a day off" by managment.

Well seems like the old boss has a hair some where that he is not in a jolly mood for some reason , and he can get by with this , and make a zero days off policy if he chooses. i think he can do this without any legal notice!

Your employer doesn't have to give any notice when changing a schedule. Keep in mind that although it's not a nice thing for an employer to do, you (as the employee) are there of your own will, and have the choice to accept whatever schedule you are given (and stay), or you can choose to not accept it and look for a different job. Sorry to hear that things are tough with the boss.

My employer has recently started not submitting staffs rota'd hours until days before there next shift such as my rota for friday will not be in until wednesday or thursday of that working week. Is this legal? Giving me one to two days notice before i am scheduled to work as my rota'd hours change week to week and are never the same. What are my rights as an employer in this situation?

My employer calls me at 10pm the night before the schedule starts. meaning if i have to be at work at 8am the next day i may not find out til 10pm or even later. and sometimes i dont get a call at all and have to assume im off the next day and have to call to get my schedule at which i am treated rudely and only told the following day i work depending on the manager that is on duty. is that legal?
