Can an Employer Fire you for any Reason?

At my job many people were fired for stupid insignificant reasons. Are there any protection for the employee?

Well if a employer is hired at a job they can be fired for various reasons.. If you don't follow code of ethics there is a possibility of you being fired.

There is no law or rule for a employer not to be fired.

Certain states like Ohio are "At will" states which basically means an employer does not need a reason to terminate. If they state "for Cause" then you really have little recourse but to prove otherwise in order to get unemployment. some employers really know how to play the system and if they set their mind to it you're screwed.
