I understand there are regulations about speaking foreign languages in the work place, is that true?

I work there are approx. 300 persons. When in a group they use their native language. It is very rude when I can not speak or understand what they are saying.

The previous answer is only partially correct. There are restrictions on the use of languages other than English while on the job in certain professions. For instance pilots, coal mining personnel, oil field workers and generally those who are engaged in work where clear English communication and teamwork is is required for safety and security of the workforce or the public.
