If employer moves employee from one position within a clinic, can pay be drastically cut when no disciplinary actoin is being taken?

If an employer moves employee to another position, due to original position closing, is it legal for the employee to have their pay drastically cut?

The employer can pretty much do what ever they want! It's your choice if you want to remain working there. If you don't take the pay cut and go elsewhere to work, then someone will accept the job for the amount of pay they are offering. If you are a good employee, know your job well and they value you as an employee then they should make this job change a lateral move and shouldn't cut your pay.
