Job interviews - Dress for success

Is it acceptable to just wear suit pants, dress shirt, and tie and not wear a suit jacket during warm or hot weather when interviewing?

It depends on what kind of position you are applying for. If you are applying for a typical business dress position, then I would recommend wearing the full suit (banker, marketing, sales, etc). If you are applying for a position where the dress is typically casual like at target, restaurants, etc. then without a jacket would be fine. I think a good rule of thumb is think about what you will wear everyday at this type of position and dress it up one level.

I don't think you can overdress for a job interview. (well tux may be over the top) but as the old saying goes, dress for success.
