There is no real difference between them. Resume are usually shorter than 2 page and curriculum vitae are usually longer than 2 page.

They are mostly used interchangeably with little difference. A resume is mostly about a page and its brief .Mostly used in America and some parts of canada whiles CVs are longer and require all your credentials or job histry. used mostly in the medical feild whiles the other is for bussiness feilds.
CV are used in the uk,europe africa .
Lately they can be used one for the other.
